DIVERSIFICATION OF NURSERIES IN THE BORENDY DISTRICT

The nurseries in the Borendy district, which have been supported by Noé for several years, are diversifying their plant production! No less than 4 additional species, including 2 threatened with extinction, have just been planted in two Kanak tribes in the Borendy district.

By spreading their roots and preventing the rain from hitting the ground hard, the 521 trees planted will reduce the flow of red soil onto the mangrove and into the lagoon.

Thirty-two people were mobilised for the occasion. Young and old were delighted to contribute to the restoration of the forest next to their homes. It must be said that it is very precious for the maintenance of water resources.

900 seedlings of 10 other species are patiently waiting for their turn in the community nurseries, under the attentive care of Radji Kainda, Prisca and Johan Tonhouenri, Sylvain, Roxane and Philémon Nonké.
