1) SAVING ENDANGERED SPECIES
The extinction of any of the planet’s living species is an irreversible loss. When a species becomes extinct, it destabilizes the proper functioning of the ecosystem. No living species should die out because of human activities. It is our shared responsibility towards future generations.
2) PROTECTING NATURAL SPACES
The worldwide network of protected areas and biodiversity sanctuaries is essential if we are to maintain our natural heritage and productive ecosystems. Developing this network and managing these natural spaces, over the long term, by involving the local communities who depend on them is essential if we are to protect this remarkable biodiversity.It is also a powerful demonstration of international solidarity.
3) RESTORING ORDINARY BIODIVERSITY
By destroying and simplifying natural environments and ordinary biodiversity, mankind has dramatically changed ecosystem functioning and the ability of these systems to provide ecological goods and services, essential for humankind. It is now imperative that we rebuild nature and restore its ecological functions.
4) RECONNECTING MAN WITH NATURE
Mankind is now a predominantly urban animal and has lost contact with nature. However, nature is a source of vitality, well-being, and an important part of quality of life. Learning more about nature is essential so we can better protect it and change our behaviour.

We need to drastically change our patterns of consumption and production in order to save biodiversity. To this end, we need to support all economic actors (civil society, local communities, companies) and develop natural supply chains and economic models that are biodiversity-friendly.
