BROADCAST OF A DOCUMENTARY ON THE SUCCESS OF OUR ACTION TO PROTECT THE DALMATIAN PELICAN

For almost 10 years, Noé has been involved in the Mediterranean basin with a programme to protect the Dalmatian pelican and wetlands. The Dalmatian Pelican is the largest bird in Europe. It is qualified as an "umbrella species", a term that designates a species whose wide range allows the protection of a large number of other species if it is protected. After years of intervention, the results of which are no longer to be proven, a television documentary has taken an interest in our action, which we suggest you discover below.

Since 2013, Noé has been working on the conservation of wetlands and the Dalmatian pelican in the Balkans, especially in the transboundary Lake Skadar between Montenegro and Albania.

In collaboration with many local institutions and civil society organisations, this programme has had very good results on the population of the Dalmatian Pelican in the Balkans, with a population that has increased by more than 300% in the last 10 years !

The project is now coming to an end, leaving it to local stakeholders to continue the conservation efforts undertaken.

AN ACTION THAT IS THE SUBJECT OF A TELEVISION DOCUMENTARY

The very good results of this programme were the subject of a documentary on the conservation of the Dalmatian Pelican in Montenegro, broadcast on national television on 12 September, thus highlighting the conservation efforts made by all the actors. This documentary also commits them to maintain the efforts and the good collaboration so that this success is sustainable.

Noé would like to thank Radio Televizija Crne Gore for making the documentary, as well as the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund for the funding, and invites you to discover it.
